2025 Taxidermy Service Prices​

NOTE:  These prices are for you info only and are no longer valid...we will update to 2026 prices when we are ready to start taking in birds in Arizona.

GameBirds​

• Grouse, Ptarmigan, Gambels Quail, Bobwhite Quail, Chukar Partridge & Hungarian Partridge-

  • $149 for Standing Pose; Wall Hanging with Natural Wood & Standard Scenery.

    • Flying Pose add $10​

    • Table Top Mount add $10

• Pheasant-

  • $199 for Standing Pose; Wall Hanging with Natural Wood & Standard Scenery.

    • Flying Pose add $15​

    • Table Top Mount add $15

• Other Game Birds will be quoted based on species

 

Waterfowl

• Bufflehead or Teal Ducks: $349

• Medium Ducks (Harlequin, Goldeneye, Scoter & more): $399

• Large Ducks (​Mallards, Widgeon, Merganser, Eider): $449      for standing pose with standard background and scenery

  • Add $50 For Any Flying Pose On Any Large Duck​​

• NOTE:  All ducks, especially Mallards, must be in good condition & fully feathered prior to acceptance into our shop!​

• Crane or Goose: Standing Mount with Standard background and scenery starts at $549

  • Add $100 For Any Flying mounts​

    • We are no longer accepting Snow Geese, we apologize but there will be no exceptions to this.​​​

Custom backgrounds including rock base or sea walls start at $49 per bird.

Any other custom work, custom poses, multiple birds,

packaging or shipping costs will be quoted in advance,

we have no hidden charges!

 

Instructions To Preserve Birds For Taxidermy:

Handle the birds gently in the field and treat them with care between the harvest and delivering to us for taxidermy. 

Waterfowl must be fully feathered out & will be inspected prior to acceptance into our shop.

Wrap the bird in TP or paper towels to absorb blood & any water,

place gently in a plastic bag, do not bend the wings or other parts, then freeze the bird whole as soon as possible.

These things may negatively affect the ability to get your bird taxidermied:

• Do not "ring" the neck, the feathers will be damaged and likely fall out.

• Check your bird carefully for damage, missing feathers, pin feathers, also any holes or broken wings and inform us so we can determine if taxidermy is possible.

• Do not bend the wings, or any other parts when putting in the freezer.  

• There is no need to use panty hose and do NOT freeze in water!

We will assess the condition of birds to determine if taxidermy is possible, we may not be able to taxidermy birds shot with rifle's or handguns if the bird is "shot up" with parts and pieces missing, such as wings with holes or a large amount of feathers shot off.

You'd be shocked what we see sometimes!!

For grouse & ptarmigan we personally use a 20 gauge shot gun, with 6 or 7.5 shot. 

 

For Waterfowl Hunting (or any hunting) It Is Your Responsibility To Know & Follow All Laws and Regulations!

 

All Waterfowl will require a deposit, along with the completion of federal paperwork, including your hunting license number, date and location of harvest and

signature of the hunter upon receipt of bird.

We will NOT be accepting birds via any USPS mail service!

The possibility of UPS overnight, FedEx 1-day, or Alaska Air Cargo will be considered on a case by case basis, but you MUST contact us prior to any shipping or we will decline the shipment.

How To Get Your Beautiful Mounted Bird Back:

Local Customers: We will call you as soon as your birds are ready to be picked up at our shop.​  Full payment/any balance due, must be paid at pick up.​

​

​Out Of Area and Out Of State Customers:

We will build a custom sized crate (starting at $15 per bird for materials), to safely secure your finished bird(s) and ship via the most appropriate service based on your location, at your expense, at the current prices.

Full payment or any balance due, must be paid prior to shipping your bird(s).  All birds are shipped insured, we will send you a copy of the receipt at the time of shipping.  Alaska Gamebird Taxidermy and its owners cannot be held responsible for any damage or delays caused by the shipping provider.
